In October of 2016, Todd Orr was hiking in the mountains of Montana when he spotted a grizzly bear. He made eye contact and the bear ran off with her cubs over a crest in the distance. Only a few minutes later, Todd turned around to find the bear charging towards him. He pulled out his bear spray, fired, then collapsed as he found himself in a life and death struggle against a grizzly bear.
Not only did Todd survive, on his way back to his vehicle, he was attacked by the same bear again in a second life or death struggle.
I had the priviledge and the opportunity to sit down with Todd Orr at the 2017 Spartan World Championships. This is his incredible story of wits, preparation, and survival.
