How to Talk with Women

OoM 050: How to Talk with Women with Tripp Lanier

March 1, 2016 //  by Ryan Michler

Meeting and approaching women can be one of the most difficult things that a man can do. We get nervous, we don’t know what to say or, worse, we say something stupid, and we just have a hard time being ourselves.

My guest today, Tripp Kramer, with TrippAdvice.com teaches why talking to women is so hard, how we can overcome this fear, how to keep ourselves out of the “friend zone” and so much more.

“There’s a lot of guys who have never learned how to be comfortable around a woman.” Tweet That— Tripp Kramer

I’m 28 and I’ve never approached a girl in my life. The whole thing is so alien to me that I can’t even bother to start at this point. With all the responsibilities of adult life, the job, the learning, I can’t see myself allocating resources to this. I might as well try to learn to fly a plane on the side.

I am not even sure why my life turned out this way. I am a heterosexual man, I want women. I had relationships back when I was in school. But it was somehow easy then, all straight forward and clear. You were in the vicinity of the person all the time and if you had mutual attraction you’d eventually figure it out and have a relationship.

Now I have to go bother strangers and make them be attracted to me? This doesn’t make any sense to me. And that’s another thing – it’s like women have 0 interest or desire for relationships. I have to MAKE you want to like me? The whole approaching women thing just seems desperate to me. With all the things a man should learn and know and be in order to impress a girl to even consider him to be anything worthy of her attention, how can we talk about natural attraction? So all these “techniques” seem sleazy covert ways of controlling other people. I don’t want to do this. I want to meet a person and develop a relationship out of mutual attraction. But that is not possible in today’s world apparently. Looks like I’m bound to walk the lonely road for the rest of my days…
